The beauty queen from Delta Amacuro state, Stefany Gutiérrez has been crowned Miss Venezuela 2017 on November 9, after defeating 23 other contestants.

Being the successor of Keysi Sayago, Miss Venezuela 2016, she disappointed Miss Amazonas, Megan Beci, who became the second finalist and Miss Falcón, Biliannis Álvarez the first runner-up.

Gutiérrez will travel in the coming days to Las Vegas, United States to represent her country in Miss Universe 2018 contest.

"I'm very happy. Grateful to God and each of you because you have been part of this dream," she said after her coronation.

In terms of Miss Universe beauty battle, the history of the country was quite amazing, as there were seven Miss Venezuela contestants who won the crown of Miss Universe since 1979.

Maritza Sayalero

She was the first Venezuelan beauty queen to win the Miss Universe crown in 1979.

Irene Sáez

Saez was the second woman who won the Miss Universe title in 1981 after winning the Miss Venezuela crown in the same year. She has been working as a politician along with being a model.

Bárbara Palacios

After five years Palacios became the third woman from the country to win Miss Universe contest in 1986. The Spanish-born beauty queen has been performing as a TV host and tried her hands in writing as well.

Alicia Machado

The American-Venezuelan actress Machado became Miss Venezuela in 1995 and later in 1996, she was crowned as the winner of Miss Universe.

Dayana Mendoza

The Venezuelan model and actress Mendoza received the glamorous crown of Miss Universe in 2008. She was featured on NBC's reality show The Celebrity Apprentice in 2012.

Stefanía Fernández

The TV host and model Fernández represented Venezuela in Miss Universe 2009. The beauty queen was crowned as Miss Trujillo 2008 including Miss Venezuela in the same year.

Gabriela Isler

In 2013, Venezuela last celebrated the glamour battle when the representative of the country Isler made them proud after winning Miss Universe pageant in Russia. She also has been working as a TV host and a model.

All these divas showed that the country is competitive enough in terms of beauty pageants. The competition seems to get tougher day by day. In 2018, other beauty queens will be determined to snatch the Miss Universe crown. So the question is, will Stefany Gutiérrez make it or not?
