Minzy's solo debut will have a self-composed song

They further stated that the mini album will have a self-composed song by the former 2Ne1 member.

And finally, here are few updates on Gong Minzy's much awaited solo debut. The pretty lass has been postponing her solo album to concentrate on her reality show Sisters' Slam Dunk. Now, it looks like she is all set for the show.

Gong Minzy's agency, Music Works has revealed that she is currently focussing on the album which is likely to release in April. They further stated that the mini album will have a self-composed song by the former 2NE1 member. However, the title song is yet to be finalized.

"This solo album will also contain Gong Minzy's first self-composed song. Not only that, but she participated in many parts of this album's production, so we expect that she will show a more mature side to herself," a press statement from the agency quoted.

Though there is a buzz that the young talent will join hands with Jay Park, the agency didn't reveal any details on that front. Earlier, the label stated to AllKPop, "It's true that [Minzy] recorded a song with Jay Park. But we only have a recorded song, and nothing besides that has been confirmed. We are simply in the preliminary stages of preparing for her solo album."

Meanwhile, recently, 2NE1's final single Goodbye featured CL, Park Bom, and Sandara Park, but will be without Minzy. However, she was shocked to learn about the teaser release through a news article. Minzy, who has already left the group to pursue her solo career, had expressed her disappointment.

In an Instagram post, the youngest member wrote, "It's a shame that I had to find out 2NE1 will be releasing their final album through a news article. This is very unfortunate as I was previously a member of the group 2NE1, but I share the same feelings as the other members in wanting to show appreciation and bid farewell to everyone for all their love and support of 2NE1."

2NE1's last album was released almost two years ago -- Crush, in 2014 and they last performed together as a three-member band at the 2015 Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA).
