Kodi 17.6 RC1 can now be installed on your Android, iOS phone

Kodi 17.6 RC1 download files for Android and iOS devices are now up for grab.

Kodi 17.6 RC1 has been rolled out only two days after the preceding update. The new update can now be downloaded for Android and iOS as both the APK and IPA files have been made available.

The release of the new update has not been unexpected to arrive that early, causing surprises to many fans in the Kodi community that the version is now up available. On Tuesday, October 24, Kodi released Krypton 17.5 which was later followed by Krypton 17.5.1.

Despite reports that Kodi might be jumping to Kodi 18 Leia, which is expected to be a major one, the developer still came up with an unprecedented move to spill Kodi 17.6 RC1 to the public.

On Kodi's website, the latest version has not been listed yet which means the complete changelog is not yet known as of this time. However, some insiders were able to bring interested users to download and install the Kodi 17.6 APK file for Android and Kodi 17.5 RC1 IPA file for iOS.

Expectedly, the new version should come with a string of bug fixes and security patches for the overall stability and performance improvement of the app. For Windows, Linux and Mac users, head over to kodi.tv/download to check if the DEB file is now up for grab. As of the press time, any files are not yet available for now.

In the meantime, Kodi 18 Leia has been predicted to come out in a matter of weeks. Hence, the community has to wait for now as the Kodi team might be throwing surprises around before Christmas time.
