Keppel Telecommunications Q2 profit slumps; shares fall

Net profit attributable to shareholders decreased to $10.3 million compared to $18.8 million last year.

Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation reported a 45 percent drop in second-quarter net profit, due to lower contribution from the disposal of units in its data centre division and weaker performance from logistics division.

Net profit attributable to shareholders decreased to $10.3 million compared to $18.8 million last year, company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Revenue decreased 5 percent to $88.3 million in the three months ended June 30.

Keppel's logistic division reported a revenue of $69.5 million in the first half, down by $2.0 million from last year.

Logistic division contributes nearly 88 percent to group revenue.

Shares of the company were down 3.6 percent to S$1.6 at 0416 GMT on the Singapore Exchange.
