It's official now! EXO's Kai and Jung Da Bin will play the lead in Andante, a new classroom drama produced by KBS. Kai will be playing a high schooler, Lee Si Kyung. Interestingly, this is his first full-length drama after starring in web drama "Choco Bank," and "EXO Next Door" and the recent "Seven First Kisses."

According to a report on Soompi, Kai's agency SM Entertainment confirmed with reporters: "Kai will be starring in KBS's pre-produced drama 'Andante.'" He will be playing the male lead, a high schooler by the name of Lee Si Kyung.

Recently, during a recent chat session with Sports Seoul, the singer revealed how he ended up in a depression after a severe ankle injury. It looks like the entertainer was unable to cope up with the fact that he was wheel-chaired in front of his fans.

"Personally, [2016] is a year that still holds many regrets for me. I ended up appearing in a wheelchair in front of fans after severely injuring my ankle. I had to go through physical therapy and couldn't properly dance, something I love to do. In addition, I was extremely stressed that I might injure myself again," he stated to Sports Seoul. It is reported that Kai injure his ankle after a fall during "EXO PLANET #3 - The EXO'rDIUM" concert tour back in July 2016. He was advised bed rest for five months. Interestingly, post the recovery, Kai has been practicing heavily than ever before to get back into shape.

The female lead will be child actress Jung Da Bin. Her agency R's Company has also confirmed the same to Soompi, saying, "It is true that Jung Da Bin will be starring in 'Andante.' Please look forward to it."

The technical side of Andante included director Park Ki Ho of "Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek" and writers Park Sun Ja and Kwon Ki Kyung of the "Sharp" series. The drama will have 16 episodes and will be aired during the latter half of 2017.

With Kai as the leading man can we expect few intense dance moves!
