Overview

Indonesia have surprised quite a few with a string of solid performances in the ongoing AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 tournament, which came months after their year-long Fifa suspension was lifted.

Having played only four competitive matches since May 2016, the Garudas entered the tournament with little hope. Despite suffering a defeat in their opener against Thailand, Alfred Riedl's side have been aggressive and the results have followed them.

On Wednesday, the four-time runners-up will be hoping for a positive result in a bid to win their maiden Suzuki Cup title. The Pakansari Stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000, is likely to host a sea of home supporters, who will be crucial to the home side's confidence.

Skipper Boaz Solossa and seasoned campaigner Stefano Lilipaly have been among the goals in the ongoing tournament and Riedl would be hoping his go-to-men deliver big in the first leg.

On the other hand, Thailand have not lost a game in the ongoing tournament. They have not conceded goals as well since Indonesia scored two against them in the opener. Striker Teerasil Dangda has been in sublime form, scoring five goals including a hat-trick to dump the Garudas in the opener.

The Muangthong United forward though might be jaded due to injury concerns. Also, defenders Tanaboon Kesarat and Prathum Chutong had fitness issues during their last training session at home on Saturday. However, coach Kiatisuk Senamuang has reportedly revealed that all his players were available for selection.

The former War Elephants striker said his team was wary of the strength of Indonesia at home but maintained that they are ready for the challenge. After crushing Myanmar 6-0 in the semi-final, Thailand are looking favourites to clinch a record-fifth AFF Cup title.
