India cannibalism: Teenage boy murders 8-year-old, eats victim's raw flesh

The accused chopped the body into six pieces before dumping them in a vacant plot.

A teenage boy, who was arrested in connection with the murder of an eight-year-old boy, confessed to the crime and said he wanted to eat the victim's flesh. This shocking incident was reported Ludhiana city northern state of Punjab.

The police zeroed in on the 16-year-old boy after CCTV footage from their school showed the class VIII boy taking the victim away. During questioning, the accused said that he ate flesh from the victim's thigh and drank his blood after killing him.

According to Deputy commissioner of police (DCP, investigation) Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, the boy threw away the heart outside his school, Holy Heart Senior Secondary School. He did that because he wanted the school to shut down forever as he hated going there.

Several media reports also stated that his parents informed police that he sometimes used to eat his own hand. Police suspect some kind of psychological disease that made him enjoy raw meat.

After investigations, it was revealed that the accused lured the younger boy to his house on 17 January, when his parents were not there. He then strangled the victim and chopped the body into six pieces. He later stuffed the pieces in a sack and dumped them in a vacant plot, around 50 meters away from the victim's house. Police have recovered the body parts.
