Freshly leaked product images hint at HTC's ongoing efforts with its new self-branded phone, the HTC Bolt, besides the recently launched Pixel phones from Google. HTC gets no brand credit for the Pixel phones and hence it only makes more sense for the company to unleash its own premium smartphone into the market at a time when Apple and Samsung have failed with their unimpressive smartphone offerings in iPhone 7 and the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.

Prolific leaker and tipster, Evan Blass has shared the close-up snapshots of the HTC Bolt depicting some of its salient features including the full HD 5.5in screen, USB Type-C port and the absence of the traditional headphone jack.

According to VentureBeat, it is ascertained that the smartphone is internally codenamed as Acadia and supports Boomsound via headphones connected using an adapter.

Other confirmed features include 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 8MP front camera and 18MP rear camera with an f/2.0 lens and 4K video-recording capability. The handset will run Android Nougat out-of-the-box at the time of release.

Despite including the premium features onboard, the HTC Bolt is widely touted to incorporate simplistic yet stylish design with its thin metal frame and chamfered back. There is no word on the phone's launch date, although it is expected to launch globally starting with Sprint in the US.
