Overview

England's international friendly fixture will be Gareth Southgate's last match in charge as the inter-manager of the national side. He was appointed as a temporary replacement for Sam Allardyce, who resigned from his post after he was caught by a newspaper sting operation.

Under Southgate, the Three Lions have managed two wins and a draw and are yet to concede a goal in the three matches played. They have a chance of extend their impressive defensive record when they take on Spain.

If reports are to be believed, the Football Association (FA) are set to make Southgate the permanent manager of England national team. It should be seen how he will fare against a tough side like Spain.

The 2008 World Cup winners are also in fine form as they are unbeaten in the last five matches played in all competitions. Both sides will be looking to end the calendar year on a high with a win on Tuesday at the English capital.
