Pokemon GO Generation 2 aka Pokemon GO next-gen release is expected to add 100 new Pokemon to the existing collection of 151 monsters in Nintendo's popular augmented-reality game. With the recent leak suggesting that these new breed of Pokemons are already existing in the game's code, the official release of Pokemon GO version 2 (aka Gen 2) update seems just around the corner.
The time is ripe to collect the candies needed to evolve the existing bunch of Pokemon into new unreleased forms as you await the release of Pokemon GO Gen 2 for iOS and Android. IBTimes SG brings you a simple guide to help you evolve your current-gen Pokemon when the next-gen Pokemon are finally released into the AR game.
Chansey evolves into Blissey
Chansey is one of the rarest Pokemons in Pokemon GO and the Gen 2 update will enable you to evolve any Chansey to Blissey using 100 candies.
Eevee evolves into Umbreon or Espeon
Eevee is one of the split-evolution Pokemon, which can evolve into two additional forms with the Pokemon GO Gen 2 update â the Psychic type Espeon and the Dark type Unbreon.
It is not yet known if the nickname trick used to evolve Eevee into Jolteon (Sparky), Flareon (Pyro), and Vaporean (Rainer) could be used to evolve Umbreon and Espeon after the Gen 2 update.
Gloom evolves into Bellossom
In the current-gen game, Gloom can be evolved from a bunch of Oddish. Once you have evolved a Gloom, it can be further developed into Bellossom in Gen 2 update, wherein the Pokemon is known for its cheerful and happy temperament.
Golbat evolves into Crobat
High IV Golbats can be evolved into Crobat with 100 candies in Pokemon GO Gen 2. You can evolve the most-commonly found Zubats into Golbats in the current-gen game for a whopping 50 candies each.
Onix evolves into Steelix
Onix can turn into the menacing Steel/Ground type Pokemon called Steelix for just 50 candies. Despite its low popularity, it will serve as a formidable force against ground opponents.
Poliwhirl evolves into Politoed
Poliwhirl (in tadpole form) belongs to the family of split-evolution Pokemon like Eevee, which can develop into more than one form. At the moment, this Pokemon can evolve into the powerful Poliwrath using 100 candies.
However, the Gen 2 update will introduce the ability to transform Poliwhirl into Politoed with the same number of candies.
Porygon evolves into Porygon 2
Porygon is another extremely rare and elusive Pokemon, which can be further evolved into the sleek Porygon 2, the man-made robotic Pokemon with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Slowpoke evolves into Slowking
The current-gen Slowpoke can be evolved into Slowbro, which is known to be a formidable Gym defender in Pokemon GO. However, the new Gen 2 update will add the choice of evolving Slowpoke into Slowking, probably at 50 candies or more.
Slowking is the result of a Shellder biting Slowpoke's head rather than its tail and turning it into a genius with more psychic power.
Seadra evolves into Kingdra
Seadra is the final form of Horsea's evolution line and it can be further evolved into the Water/Dragon type Kingdra for around 100 candies. It will be a formidable force in your Gym conquering team for Pokemon GO Gen 2.
Scyther evolves into Scizor
Scyther, the Bug/Flying Pokemon can turn into Scizor for around 100 candies, wherein the former will lose its flying abilities to become a Bug/metal hybrid.
Pre-evolution Baby Pokemon
All the pre-evolution Pokemon from hatched eggs obtained through the in-game breeding system can now transform into Baby Pokemon in the Gen 2 update. For instance, two Pikachus can produce an egg that hatches into a Pichu.
A bunch of other Baby Pokemon that will debut with the forthcoming Pokemon GO next-gen update includes Cleffa (Clefairy), Igglybuff (Jigglypuff), Smoochum (Jynx), Elekid (Electabuzz), Magby (Magmar) and Tyrogue (Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee).
