GTA 5 Online: Rockstar drops big hint at next DLC release date and feature changes Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games has started updating the tunable files for the forthcoming DLC in GTA Online as the cut content from Bikers update has been scrapped permanently from the game files. Renowned YouTuber MrBossFTW (aka Ross) sheds more light on the impending Festive Surprise DLC, following Rockstar's announcement of the latest event weekend playlist for GTA 5 multiplayer mode.

The game maker has just added new power up bonuses with double GTA$ and RP across a bunch of Adversary modes including Drop Zone, Power Play and Kill Quota. Additionally, the GTA Online Creator has been updated with new Stunt Props, which offers a big boost to player-created Deathmatches, Last Team Standings and Capture events.

The double GTA$ and RP bonus will extend right through 7 December on these select Adversary modes, which contradicts an earlier announcement wherein Rockstar had suggested the event playlist bonuses would end on 8 December.

As Ross explains, such a move from Rockstar could be attributed to a silly typo or some serious change of plans for the upcoming DLC release date.

Nevertheless, it is evident that the new playlist event runs for one more day than the typical duration of an event weekend playlist. In other words, a normal event week will run for seven or fourteen days at a stretch and not something in between.

Given the duration of the current event playlist, it is almost certain that the next tunable update would be rolled out on 8 December. It could also mean that the next DLC trailer or an official announcement about the impending title update will happen on 8 December.

Consequently, we could expect the DLC release on 13 December, which happens to be the second Tuesday of the month. This theory gains further momentum as Rockstar had done something similar with the Executives and Other Criminals DLC in 2015.

It may be recalled that the Executives and Other Criminals update was announced on 10 December (Thursday) and then released on 15 December, which happened to be a Tuesday. So, a similar feat is definitely on the cards for the upcoming Festive Surprise DLC.

There is also a ton of vehicle and property discounts going on in GTA Online as part of the event weekend bonuses offered by Rockstar. Check out the full list of offers on vehicles, properties and weapons (below):
