Mo Farah said he would want to take up the role of a fitness coach at Premier League club Arsenal after he decides to hang up his boots.

The Great Britain runner successfully retained his Olympic title in the 5,000 and 10,000m at the 2016 Rio Olympics and entered the record books by becoming the second man to win both the events at the same Games, twice.

Farah, who moved to England from Somalia at a very young age, revealed he started supporting the Gunners as a kid and he would love to be associated with a club that has always had players from African backgrounds.

"One thing I really love is football and I have a good relationship with Arsenal. I started supporting them when I first came to Britain as a kid," Farah told The Sunday Times Magazine, as quoted by the Mail Online.

"I liked the way they played. They also had a lot of players from African backgrounds. One day, I'd love to be able to work for them, maybe as a fitness coach.

"I'm a big believer in what the body's capable of with proper training."

Despite tripping to the track in the 10,000m event, Farah finished on the top step of the podium in Rio de Janeiro. He survived another scare in the heats of the 5,000m before completing the double-double.

The long-distance runner has not ruled out the possibility of featuring at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 33-year-old maintains that he has the passion to run more but says he knows when to call it quits.

"The passion's still there, but there will be a day when I wake up and think: "I can't do this any more, I'm not as hungry as I was, I don't enjoy it as much." That's the day I know I'll need to hang my spikes up," Farah added.
