Speculation is rife that Google is working on a third flagship device codenamed 'taimen' whose screen is bigger than all Pixel phones.

Close on the heels of yesterday's leak pertaining to the next-gen Pixel phones 'muskie' and 'walleye', a third flagship device codenamed 'taimen' has been spotted in the wild. Google has been traditionally codenaming its devices after various fish names such as hammerhead (Nexus 5), shamu (Nexus 6), angler (Nexus 6P), etc. and it's no different this time.

Droid Life reports that taimen will be a large smartphone with a bigger screen than both 'muskie' and 'walleye'. Given the size of the larger taimen fish (see screenshot above), it makes perfect sense that taimen has a bigger screen than the other two Pixel phones.

Additionally, it is widely speculated that 'taimen' will be a standalone project that will carry a different product branding than the famed Pixel or Nexus line-up. Sources close to Android Police have confirmed that the third device 'taimen' will be a phone and not a tablet.

However, there is no substantial evidence to verify the same and we could be seeing anything from third-gen Nexus 7 to a Pixel XXL in the making.
