Goblin: Popularity of tvN drama increase tourist activity in the filming locations

Goblin have increased the number of tourists visiting the shooting areas of the popular K-drama.

Popularity of K-drama and K-pop have captured the hearts of the viewers from all over the world. And, with the growing popularity, the global fans are interested in the Asian country more and more.

According to the reports, the growing popularity of the tvN drama Goblin have increased the number of tourists visiting the shooting areas of the popular K-drama.

The popular tvN drama Goblin, also known as Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, is breaking records from its debut for its engaging plot and star studded cast which includes Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Yoo In Na and others. The series which is just three episodes away from its finale is still topping the TV popularity charts and achieving high popularity ratings.

According to news outlet Antara, as cited by The Jakarta Post, the tvN fantasy drama featured different scenic locations in South Korea and it captivated many fans. In Gangneung's Jumunjin Beach, a breakwater area saw a huge increase in the number of tourists after Goblin. The tourists visited the place to witness the beauty of the place and also to recreate the iconic scene from tvN series.

Adding on, the old bookstore where Shin (Gong) in Goblin is seen frequently waiting for Eun Tak (Kim) has also became a popular tourist attraction, the same report suggested. The bookstore saw an increase in local as well as foreign visitors.

The owner of the bookstore, Named Hanmi said that the visitors count tripled during weekdays and on the weekends, it grew more than 10 times. He further added that due to the popularity of the tvN drama, the areas near the bookstore also had an increase in the tourist activity.

Goblin will air the episode 14 on 20 January, Friday, and there will a three-hour finale on 21 January.
