Bruno Mars was born on October 08, 1985, as the son of Peter Hernandez and Bernadette San Pedro Bayot, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents originally named him Peter Gene Hernandez. It was during his childhood that his father gave him the nickname 'Bruno' after professional wrestler, Bruno Sammartino. During many of his interviews, Bruno has told that he resembled the wrestler physically, as he was very chubby during his childhood.
