Fidget spinner in space: NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik proves science can be fun

NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik has posted a video of ISS astronauts playing with a fidget spinner in the International Space Station.

Do you like fidget spinners? Well, they seem to be the latest fad, so much so that the small toy has even reached space. Here's how.

The International Space Station might be a place beyond your imagination where you can expect to see a fidget spinner. But here it is. NASA's veteran astronaut Randy Bresnik has recently posted quite a fun video on the photo-sharing social media platform Instagram, which shows ISS astronauts enjoying quite a lot while playing with a small fidget spinner.

The video features several crew members of the space station having the time of their lives while playing with the little toy, which sports a NASA logo, and also performing impressive zero gravity flips and rolls.

"A fidget spinner in space! How long does it spin? I'm not sure, but it's a great way to experiment with Newton's laws of motion! Allowing the fidget spinner to float reduces the bearing friction by permitting the rate of the central ring and outer spinner to equalize, and the whole thing spins as a unit," wrote Bresnik on Instagram.

Viewers are loving the video, as it has already gathered over 48,000 views on Instagram and more than 25,000 retweets on Twitter.

There you go. These NASA astronauts proved it once again – science can be fun.
