Facebook testing dedicated WhatsApp button for its Android app, suggests report

The social media giant has already integrated Instagram button inside the app

Apparently, social media giant Facebook is trying to bring all its platforms under one roof. Recently it has been reported that Facebook is probably testing a new dedicated button for WhatsApp, which would be integrated into its core app on Android. According to TheNextWeb, the button will let users open their WhatsApp accounts without having to leave the Facebook app.

The publication has published screenshots of the said WhatsApp button, which appeared on the Facebook app of a user when he changed the language settings to Danish. This suggests that Facebook might be, currently, testing the feature in Denmark for a small group of users.

The new WhatsApp shortcut button apparently appears in the app inside the menu right under the user's name, reported the website. However, it is likely that not everybody will be able to see this button as of now, added the report. It looks like Facebook is only testing the feature for its Android app currently and it is possible that the social media giant will soon start testing it for the iOS version, as well.
