The actress, who has received nominations for three Golden Globes and Oscar award, describes how directors used to disregard her opinions

Emma Stone, who gathered critical acclaim and appreciation for the stunning performance in her musical romantic movie 'La La Land', recently revealed some incidents of gender discrimination she faced during her struggling phase. The actress, who has received nominations for three Golden Globes and Oscar award, describes how the directors used to disregard her opinions.

The actress further revealed that her jokes were stolen by the directors in the past and were later given to the male co-stars, indicating a small episode of discrimination faced by the actress in her past.

While the actress was being interviewed by Rolling Stone as she is featuring as the cover girl of their January 2017 edition, Emma explained: "I hesitate to make it about being a woman, but there have been times when I've improvised, they've laughed at my joke and then given it to my male co-star. Given my joke away. Or it's been me saying, 'I really don't think this line is gonna work,' and being told, 'Just say it, just say it, if it doesn't work we'll cut it out' — and they didn't cut it out, and it really didn't work!"

Stone flipped back some pages of her past when her unsolicited opinions were immediately rejected by the directors without paying any serious consent. The actress also recalled the times when she was told by the directors that her ideas and opinions hinder the filming process.

"There are times in the past, making a movie, when I've been told that I'm hindering the process by bringing up an opinion or an idea," Stone explained. This was not the first time the actress shed some light and brought up the issue of gender discrimination.

Regrettably, its been disturbing that an outstanding performer like Emma Stone once faced such incidents of gender discrimination in her life and was denied the freedom to express her opinions and ideas, especially in an artistic and creative domain like filmmaking.
