Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi are rumoured to be trying to save their marriage.

Accoding to Life & Style magazine, DeGeneres has been in counselling solo and with De Rossi as the two are trying hard to solve the differences between them.

According to a source as cited by inquisitr, "Part of their therapy is to go on more date nights." The source further added, "That's why they've been seen out and about more together lately."

Though the two were recently spotted last month at a pre-Oscars party but according to the recent the two are on the verge of calling it quits as the differences between them escalated.

"It's all about spending quality time together, but still giving each other space during the workday," a source mentioned.

The source said, "Ellen and Portia had been fighting more than ever. Portia was frustrated because she was spending a lot of time on Ellen's talk show set or sitting at home, waiting for Ellen to spend time with her."

It is not quite long ago that the two seemed to be quite happy together, as DeGeneres shared, "there's no best part [about being married.] It's everything. I can't imagine not being married. I have my best friend, the person I want to spend time with more than anybody else in the world."

However, DeGeneres have been really busy in her work life. She reportedly signed a deal with NBC as a host of a game show.

The 59-year-old actress talked about the new show stating, "I'm so excited to be hosting a huge primetime game show for NBC," she said. "We're pulling out all the stops — gigantic sets, hilarious games. It's going to be like a combination of American Ninja Warrior, RuPaul's Drag Race and a water park."
