Paul Pelosi, husband of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), made his first public appearance since he was injured during an attack at the couple's home in October. The 82-year-old was seen accompanying the speaker at the annual Kennedy Center Honors event in Washington, D.C., on Sunday night.
Pelosi Was Wearing Single Black Glove and Hat
Dressed in a dark blue suit paired with a white shirt, Pelosi was seen wearing a black glove on left hand and a black brimmed hat, sparking a lot of curiosity among the social media users.
Pelosi underwent surgery for a skull fracture he suffered during a hammer attack by his assailant David DePape. The alleged accused had entered the couple's house by breaking a window.
DePape, who broke into the house with the intention of harming the House Speaker, was arrested following Pelosi's 911 call. "The two officers opened the door to see the foyer of the Pelosi Residence, Mr. Pelosi, wearing a long-sleeved shirt, DEPAPE in shorts, running shoes and a sweatshirt, and DEPAPE and Mr. Pelosi jointly gripping a hammer," the federal indictment reads.
Social Media Abuzz with Theories
Following the attack there a lot of theories surfaced on social media claiming that Pelosi and DePape were lovers, and the incident was nothing more than a lovers' tiff. Pelosi's recent appearance too churned out another speculation about him contracting monkey pox.
The unclaimed rumor started after a user posted a photoshopped close up of Pelosi's mouth showing some sort of black marks. While the marks were not visible in the original picture, the authenticity of the cropped image could not be verified.
"Well I don't know about that, but I do know Paul Pelosi has a raging case of "the farfallonus of the blowhole" it's all around his mouth and obviously it's on that left hand as well. Yuck!" tweeted a user.
"Did Paul Pelosi have MonkeyPox and had to be out of sight for a couple or three weeks? Prove me wrong. Release the bodycam footage. Show us the security tapes that Nancy got to see when she came home," wrote another.
"So your saying there's a chance Paul Pelosi had a poop pecker in and around his mouth. That was possible tainted with monkey pox," read another tweet.
