There is no doubt that Deadpool 2 will be happening sooner or later. After the huge success in the box office, it is much anticipated. However, according to the Movie News Guide report, "production plans for the sequel hit a roadblock when director Tim Miller left."

With this news out, fans were worried about the fate of the sequel. According to a Stopru report, the director decided to part ways with actor Ryan Reynolds over differences in the creative field. Reynolds wanted to continue the cinematic style of the film which the fans really enjoyed but Miller had a different opinion and wanted a more polished look.

Deadpool 2 Signs Up John Wick's David Leitch

Well, now the director's chair has already been filled, and fans need not worry about it much. Stopru reported that David Leitch will direct the sequel. Fans already know the quality of his work as he worked on The Matrix Trilogy and The Bourne Legacy.

The release date of the sequel is not yet confirmed but according to the Movie News Guide, "The studio has changed the release dates of Alien:Covenant and Kingsman 2. It also revealed two dates that they are eyeing for two, still unannounced, Marvel movies – Nov. 2, 2018 and February 14, 2019. Fans are hoping that the November date will be reserved for Deadpool 2."

Will Vanessa Become Copycat?

Comic fans would know that Venassa has superpowers of her own, though in the movie it didn't really seem so. But, in the sequel fans may expect her to be 'Copycat' like is known in the comics.

In Deadpool, no hint of Vanessa having mutant powers was fed to the viewers. However, it is quite possible that Wade Wilson's girlfriend to be Copycat. As the scriptwriters, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, say, "So hopefully, we'll see what happens if we're afforded the opportunity to move forward on this world," as according to Cinema Blend. "It's something that would probably be worth exploring at some point."

They included it in the first film because it was just an introduction of a new hero and the new world, they explained. They further said that they did not want to "muddy the waters" by also making Vanessa a mutant. So, Deadpool 2 might introduce Vanessa's mutant power.
