The Central Narcotics Bureau, Singapore seized drugs worth S$74,000 from a vehicle parked at a petrol station in Pasir Ris Drive 1 on February 12, 2017. The officials arrested five drug offenders from the spot. Malayan machetes and a baton were also seized from the offenders.
According to police officials, a total of 427 grams of diamorphine (Heroine), 409 grams of methamphetamine (Ice), 101 ecstasy tablets, and 22 Erimin-5 tablets were seized from the vehicle during the operation.
Details of the operation
It happened when officials at Central Narcotics Bureau received a tip regarding drug trafficking from a confidential source recently. Initial investigations helped the officials to locate a 27-year-old Singaporean man in a vehicle parked at a petrol kiosk in Pasir Ris Drive 1. Apart from the suspect, another Singaporean man, aged 28 was also there in the car at that time.
Soon, a Malaysian man reached the spot on a motorcycle to carry out a deal with the Singaporean offenders. Soon, the CNB officers intervened and arrested them all and seized 233 grams of diamorphine and 253 grams of methamphetamine. As per some media reports, other paraphernalia was also discovered from the motorcycle.
Later, the Singaporean Police raided the house of the 27-year-old man, where they found more drugs and equipment including digital weighing machines. From his home, police also seized four Malayan machetes and a baton.
Two Singaporean women were also arrested from the home of the 27-year-old accused. According to police officials who took part in the raid, one of the women was hiding inside a cupboard during the operation.
Police also revealed that further investigations of this case are going on at a steady pace. The news about the drug seizing came just a day after a Malaysian citizen was freed from the death row after being acquitted of drug charges.
