The 3-minute video clip, which was released yesterday, has gone viral on social media platforms, and spectators are praising the makers of the movie for its spellbinding visuals, magical background score and intense screen presence of the lead stars.

The entire highlight of the trailer is Ranveer Singh who plays the character of Alauddin Khilji, the menacing antagonist. The actor, with his vicious looks, has already captured the hearts of the audiences and his fans now cannot wait to see their favorite star gracing the big screen in full fury. Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini of Chittor looks graceful, while Shahid Kapoor who plays Maharawal Ratan Singh is royal.

Popular filmmaker Karan Johar took his Twitter handle and praised the lead stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor for their brilliant performance in the clip. The director added that 'Padmavati' will mark their career-best performances, and revealed that the trailer gave him Goosebumps.

Glam doll Alia Bhatt told that the recently released trailer is epic, and lauded Bhansali stating that he is a pure genius. Through her Twitter, Bhatt admitted that she is waiting for December 01 to see the film on big screen.

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor called the trailer majestic and mesmerizing, while his daughter Sonam Kapoor tweeted that she is looking forward enjoy the film in theaters in December.

Hrithik Roshan, the Greek God of Bollywood called the trailer 'Unparalleled potential like never before'.

Protests from Rajput outfits continue

The basic thread of the movie has not gone well with some Rajput outfits in the country. A Rajput outfit organisation named Karni Sena has attacked the sets of the movie during the shooting in Jaipur, and has even attacked Bhansali for making the flick.

The attack continued when the first look poster of the film was released, as the protestors burnt the posters. As the film is all set to reach the theaters on December 01, the Rajput outfit has vowed that they will not allow the film to get a release until and unless the content of the movie is changed.

Padmavati is based on the legendary 13th-14th CE Indian queen Rani Padmini, who was the queen of Rajput King Ratan Singh. She performed self-immolation to defend her honour against a Muslim invader, Alauddin Khalji who conquered her kingdom Chittor.
