Korean idol group BTS achieved another milestone as they will be making their first US TV performance at the 2017 American Music Awards (AMAs).

The music awards show will be broadcast live on November 19 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

BTS, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez and Diana Ross were announced by the show's organizers as performers.

"It is such an honor for BTS and BigHit Entertainment to be invited to the American Music Awards as one of the performers. Our partners in the U.S. have helped us pave the way in every way possible, and together we are making history. We are also excited to show our fans, ARMY, the first-ever U.S. live TV performance of 'DNA,'" a source from Big Hit Entertainment told Forbes.

AMAs announced on Twitter that "@BTS_twt is bringing '"DNA' to the #AMAs and U.S. TV for the first time."

After the announcement, the hashtag #BTSxAMAs climbed on top of the worldwide trending topics on Twitter.

According to the AMAs, "With their popularity thriving in markets across all of Asia and mounting tremendously in the Americas, the boy band's super-stardom has garnered a sky-rocketing trajectory of success in just a few short years."

It said BTS has stayed at No. 1 for 40 weeks on Billboard's Social 50 chart and the boy band emerged as the first K-pop act to land in the Top 10 on Billboard 200.

"BTS will treat fans to the U.S. premiere of their brand new single, 'DNA,' live at the American Music Awards for their first ever U.S. television performance," the AMAs added.

At the Billboard Music Awards in May, BTS took home the Top Social Artist award and the AMAs will be the second time that they will be attending an American music award show. It was also reported that BTS will be appearing on "The Ellen Show."

Ross will be honored with the "American Music Award for Lifetime Achievement" while Aguilera will pay tribute to Whitney Houston and music from the movie "The Bodyguard." Gomez will perform for the first time her new single "Wolves."
