Apple initiates money-raising campaign for World Wildlife Fund on Earth Day 2017

Wildlife conservationists and enthusiasts are in for some great news as Apple is partnering World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to raise money for the preservation of endangered species in celebration of Earth Day 2017. As part of its goodwill gesture towards global wildlife conservation initiative, the iPhone maker will be donating $1 to WWF for every purchase made by customers through its stores via Apple Pay.

Apple's fund-raising initiative will be extended up to 28 April, starting today. Quite interestingly, the donation amount will not be based on the worth of each purchase and hence a $10 purchase will yield the same value for the fund as a $4000 Mac Pro.

Additionally, one can also make a direct one-time donation using Apple Pay via WWF's Donate Once webpage. Apple seems to be devoted in its bid to support various nature and wildlife conservation initiatives as evident in its 2017 Environmental Responsibility Report.

In line with its unrelenting sustainability efforts, the company is testing if any of its gadgets like Apple Watch or Apple Pencil could cause harmful side effects such as rash, irritation, or allergic reaction, when it comes in contact with the user's skin.
