Angelina Jolie was allegedly jealous of Amal Clooney. The 41-year-old actress was reportedly bitter towards the British-Lebanese lawyer, destroying Brad Pitt's bond with American actor and filmmaker George Clooney.
An alleged source told Life & Style: "Angie couldn't stand being around Amal, not because Amal was unkind or rude, but solely because Angie was filled with envy."
"Angelina would even knock Amal's looks and fashion sense. Amal seemed to ignore it, but George didn't want to sit by and watch his wife get cut down," the insider added.
Following Jolie's split with Pitt, George reached out to the actor for moral support. The source revealed that George was hurt "Brad wouldn't stand up to Angie. It took some time for George to forgive and accept Brad because he was really hurt. But he understands what Brad was up against being married to Angie. She's tough."
Meanwhile, Jolie had recently talked about the "difficult time" she and her family has been going through, in an interview with BBC World News. She said: "I don't want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time. We are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it."
"Many, many people find themselves in this situation," she said. "My whole, my family...we've all being through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children...and my focus is finding this way through. We are and forever will be a family. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
