Android 8.0 Oreo is finally here! The latest software upgrade arrives via over-the-air (OTA) release for eligible devices, while Android 8.0 Oreo factory images are also available to download for Google's select Pixel and Nexus devices.

After four developer previews and a year of name guessing, Google has officially unveiled Android Oreo on Tuesday. Unfortunately, only the privileged individuals are afforded with the sweet treat as for now.

The Android 8.0 Oreo is first rolled out to third-party Android phone manufacturers via the Android Open Source Project and select Pixel and Nexus handsets. Testers under the Android O Developer Preview also got the update over the air.

Factory images allow users to go back to their previous builds once the installation of new software becomes unsuccessful for some reasons. Available factory images are intended for Google Pixel, Pixel C, Pixel X, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus Player.
