OnePlus 3 and 3T users can now enjoy the latest Android 7.1.1 firmware with a stable OxygenOS 4.1 release.

OnePlus 3 and 3T users are in for some great news as the company has started rolling out the fully-stable release of Android 7.1.1 based OxygenOS 4.1 for the former flagship devices via over-the-air (OTA) update. As the update is being rolled out in phases, it may not be available for all users at the same time.

OnePlus has followed up its recent Android 7.1.1 rollout for Open Beta Program with the latest public release of OxygenOS 4.1, which brings identical features to both the 2016 flagship smartphones.

With the release of Android 7.1.1 Final update, the OnePlus 3 and 3T now join the elite list of devices that run the latest Android firmware to date. However, OnePlus is yet to update the download section of its official portal with OxygenOS 4.1, although the rollout seems imminent.

Pre-requisites

  • Ensure your smartphone has at least 80% battery charge before you proceed.
  • Backup important data and settings on the phone to prevent unexpected data loss while flashing the OTA firmware.
  • Verify that ADB and Fastboot are setup on your PC or laptop, before you proceed with the firmware installation.

How to install Oxygen OS 4.1.0 on OnePlus 3 or 3T

Step 1: Download OxygenOS 4.1 from the links provided and endure the 'ADB and Fastboot' are pre-installed on the computer.

Step 2: Copy the firmware files to the folder where ADB and Fastboot are installed.

Step 3: Boot your phone into recovery mode by pressing and holding Power and Volume Up buttons together.

Step 4: In recovery mode, select 'Install From USB' and then a message will pop saying, "You are in sideload mode".

Step 5: Connect your Oneplus 3 or 3T to your PC or laptop

Step 6: Go to the folder where ADB and Fastboot are installed and then right-click and choose open Command Prompt.

Step 7: Enter the following command

adb sideload File Name.zip (File Name: OnePlus3TOxygen_28_OTA_047_all_1703132119_0ed76c88.zip)

Step 8: Your phone will now start flashing OxygenOS 4.1 on your OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T.

That's it. You may reboot the handset when prompted and you should be able to enjoy the latest Nougat based OxygenOS 4.1 firmware.
