Almost seven years after it was formed, K-pop's all-girl four-member band 2NE1 has been officially disbanded. And as a farewell for fans, the girls will be releasing their final single 'Goodbye.' This could be the last time fans could see the girls.

However, the song that will be released on January 21 will feature CL, Park Bom, and Sandara Park, but will be without Minzy. Earlier in April, the band's star member Minzy left the group but YG Entertainment announced that the group would continue to perform without Minzy. She is currently preparing for her solo debut under Music Works.

"On Jan. 5, 2NE1's label YG Entertainment announced that the Kpop group will release their final track. The new song will express the regrets of the members for suddenly disbanding after rumors of their comeback floated and even teasing fans with material they thought they will release," a report on Yibada stated.

"The members of 2NE1 were sad that they weren't able to say their final goodbyes to fans after their sudden disbandment, so they've come together for one last song," read a statement from the group's label YG Entertainment, as reported by several Korean websites.

According to YG, one of South Korea's top entertainment agencies, 2NE1 contract expired in May and the company has not renewed it. The band's star member Minzy already left the team and the remaining three members -- rapper CL and vocalists Park Bom and Dara -- have reportedly agreed to the parting. Dara and CL will be retained by YG as soloists, and they have signed the new contracts too. The decision was announced through their website.

2NE1's last album was released almost two years ago -- Crush, in 2014 and it last performed together as a three-member band at the 2015 Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA). The girl-band has broken the record for the highest-charting K-pop album on the Billboard 200 with Crush. The band was shot to fame with their 2009 debut single 'Fire' but became a household name worldwide after releasing their boastful girl power anthem 'I'm the Best'.
