K-Dramas have always been a source of influence over the pop culture all around the world. One such Korean drama did exceedingly well in this department recently, with one line from it going viral across the region. In the recent episode of the MBC drama 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo', the line "do you like Messi?" has gone viral on the social media. In fact, it topped the trending topics in the Philippines. The drama has Nam Joo-hyuk and Lee Sung-kyung as lead actors.

In the episode which aired on Jan 16, Monday,, Jung Nan-Hee (Jo Hye Jung) asked Jung Joon-Hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) whether he likes the iconic soccer player Messi. However, the later refused to answer to the question.

Later, when Joon-Hyung left, Nan-Hee went on to explain Kim Bok-Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) and Lee Seon-Ok (Lee Joo Young) that it is important to know about a man's interest. She further said that if the girl shares the same interest as his, the guy automatically gets attracted to the girl. Also, she gave an example saying, if a girl likes Messi, the guy may even like to go out to have a drink with her.

In the second episode, taking the advice from Nan-Hee, Kim Bok-Joo applied the same question on her first love, Jung Jae-Yi (Lee Jae Yoon), who happens to be a doctor. Though the doctor was quite uncertain as to why the former asked such a question, he did discuss about the soccer player with her for some time.

This really inspired some of the viewers and they in turn went on to message their crushes, making the phrase viral. It is one of the top trends in the Philippines but people who do not follow the show were pretty confused with what's going on?

According to Korean news outlet Xsports News, as cited by Soompi, Sung-Kyung said: "I couldn't watch the last episode because I was crying,"

"Watching the drama when it aired, I sobbed because I was so sad it was ending," Sung-Kyung added.
