Viva Industrial Trust to be part of MSCI Singapore Small Cap Index from Nov 30

Viva Industrial Trust, a Singapore-focused business park and industrial property trust, on Tuesday said it will be included in the MSCI Singapore Small Cap Index as of the close of November 30.

Viva Industrial Trust, a Singapore-focused business park and industrial property trust, on Tuesday said it will be included in the MSCI Singapore Small Cap Index as of the close of November 30.

The MSCI Singapore Small Cap Index is designed to measure the performance of the small cap segment of the Singapore market.

With 56 constituents as at October 31, the index represents about 14 percent of the free float-adjusted market capitalization of the overall Singapore equity.

"Since our listing in November 2013, VIT has grown in portfolio size, profitability and trading liquidity while delivering attractive returnsto become one of the best performing small cap industrial REITs in Singapore," Wilson Ang, CEO of VIT said in a statement.

Viva Industrial Trust comprises Viva Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust and Viva Industrial Business Trust. VIT's current property portfolio covers an aggregate gross floor area of 3.9 million sq ft and is located in key business parks and established industrial clusters with an aggregate valuation of close to S$1.3 billion.

Shares in Viva Industrial Trust ended up 2 percent at S$1 on the Singapore Exchange. The stock has advanced 43 percent in an year.
