Twitter now supports 69 new emojis including hijab, breast-feeding and more

Twitter became the first major platform to incorporate the update.

Twitter has added support for 69 new emojis and the list includes the much-anticipated ones, like the "star-struck", "woman with headscarf", "swearing emoji" and "face with raised eyebrow" and more.

Twitter designer Bryan Haggerty unveiled the Emoji 5.0 lineup and it finally includes the national flags of England, Scotland, and Wales.

"In total there are 239 new emoji included in this release," Emojipedia said in a blog post. "When removing duplicates and skin tones there are 69 unique new images in this collection," added Emojipedia.

While the 5.0 update in Emoji website was launched in March this year, Twitter became the first major platform to incorporate the update, however, there's a catch and that's pretty annoying.

Several of the new emojis in the 5.0 update rely on the characters that are the part of Unicode 10.0 release, which is currently not supported by macOS, iOS, Android or Windows, which means you won't be able to see these new cool emojis from your Twitter apps. The only way to see and use these emojis is to log in to Twitter.com via a browser.

However, Apple is expected to announce the support for the new emojis in the iOS 11, at their upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference.

Other emojis include, "face vomiting", "exploding head", "breast-feeding", "hedgehog", "t-rex", "pretzel", "fortune cookie", "flying saucer" and "brain".
