Microblogging website Twitter has added interactive 360 video feature, which will let its Periscope users watch and select broadcasters to stream in 360 degrees.

"Starting today, you can check out live, interactive 360 videos from interesting broadcasters and explore what's happening with them," Twitter's Alessandro Sabatelli said in a blog post, according to Agence France-Presse. It was also announced that though anyone on Twitter's live Periscope application can watch 360-degree videos, only a few partners are able to stream 360 via the application.

"With 360 video on Periscope, you can experience moments with the broadcaster and take a look around - it's one step closer to actually being there," the Periscope team said in a blog pos, as reported by the news agency.

This new feature comes amid the company's discussion to find come up with a fresh feature for 2017 and few months after Facebook began streaming 360-degree videos.

How to use this new feature on Twitter:

Consumers should keep in mind that Periscope announced that the feature is in its trial period and is being tested "with a small group of partners." The company said if everything goes well then the feature will be enhanced during the coming weeks.

Consumers should also keep in mind that only "selected partners" are able to stream 360 via Periscope. However, users can click a link, provided along with the new feature, to join the waitlist to be able to broadcast their own live 360 videos.

Nevertheless, everyone, the company clarified, can watch all the live 360 videos that are being shared by broadcasters. The 360 videos are also marked clearly with a "LIVE 360" tag to make them easily identifiable. If watching a 360 video on the desktop, a user has to scroll around on the screen to change perspective or if the video is being viewed in a phone then one has to simply move the handset.
