This is that time of the year when every search engines rated the most watched or searched contents on their platforms. YouTube has released a list of most watched videos and subscribers channels on their site.

Four years after the blockbuster 'Gangnam Style,' which is still the most viewed album on YouTube, Psy has topped this year's chart with 'Daddy' from his seventh album Chil-jip Psy-da." The video has gained the most number of global views for any K-pop video from November 2015 to June 30, recording over 170 million views so far.

Twice's "Cheer Up" and BTS' "Fire" are ranked at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Here's the list of top ten K-Pop videos and albums that topped te chart in 2016 on YouTube.

The video-sharing platform also listed the most subscribed Korean music channels. 1theK topped the list with leading entertainment agency, S.M. Entertainment is in second place and ToyPudding TV at the third spot. The list also had other popular names like Big Bang, JYP Entertainment, KBS World TV, Mnet, GOT7, among others.

Meanwhile, Google has also released its annual list of the most-searched terms across the globe and country-wise. Cult classic "Descendants of the Sun" came second on the Korean list while it was the ninth most searched TV show around the world in 2016. In Singapore, it was the sixth most-searched term overall and first most-searched TV show. The drama portrayed the love story between a doctor and army captain set in the fictional war-torn country of Uruk.

Other most-searched TV shows included "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" (listed in third place), "Uncontrollably Fond" (fifth place), "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" (listed in seventh place), "Doctors" (eighth place) and "Cinderella and the Four Knights" (ninth place).

In South Korea, "The Handmaiden," an erotic thriller movie, was the most searched term on Google. Other terms include Choi Soon-sil, Lee Se-dol, Pokemon Go, Powerball, and Olympics.
