Overview

Sri Lanka are the defending T20 champions after defeating India in the final in the last edition in Bangladesh. They will be looking to retain the title as T20 world champions as no side has won it on two occasions.

Should the Lankans retain it, they will not only be the first side to win the double, but also will become the first side to retain the trophy. However, their chances of progressing to the next round look slim, especially after a dip in form in recent times.

Afghanistan progressed to Super 10 after finishing the qualifier group on top. They defeated Zimbabwe to make it to the main stage of the 2016 T20 World Cup. Should they manage a win, it would be an achievement for them.
