Overview

The Group 2 clash between New Zealand and Bangladesh is a dead rubber as it has no significance in which team will progress to the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup. The Black Caps became the first team to qualify for the last four of the tournament.

New Zealand defeated Pakistan in the third fixture, while Bangladesh lost to India by one-run in a nail biting finish and that loss sealed their fate and gave MS Dhoni's side a lifeline. The Tigers are eliminated out of the T20 World Cup and New Zealand have progressed further in the tournament.
