Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi is one of the most awaited movies for the Star Wars fans. Since Rey's introduction in The Force Awakens, fans have been eager to know about her and her origin and they hope that the upcoming movie will reveal so. Some fans are convinced that she is Luke Skywalker's daughter however, some believe Skywalker may be is related to Rey in a different way.

According to the latest theory, there is no way that Skywalker could be Rey's father as her parents were actually murdered by the Jedi master, himself. The emerging fan theory from Reddit claims so.

The theory also claims that Skywalker wiped the galaxy of any last traces of the Force and while doing so, he came across a cult on a distant planet which follows the dark side of the Force and among them is baby Rey with whom he sensed a strong connection of Force with.

In the fear that they would raise the kid with the teachings of the dark side, Luke decided to save the baby, The Week reported. However, as he was trying to do so, he was being caught in the act and Skywalker had no other option other than killing her parents.

The theory seems to be a plausible one. The teaser photo of Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi was released online on January 23. It revealed the premiere month of the movie, shed light on the plot but what is still not known is whether Carrie Fisher will be part of it or not.
