Overview

Spain kick started their European championship campaign on a positive note as they registered a 1-0 victory over a resiliant Czech Republic. Andrés Iniesta's world class assist made the job easy for his Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique, who just guided the ball past Petr Cech in the final quarter of the match.

Defending champions will be looking to extend their streak when they take on Turkey on Friday. Should they put on a similar performance they had displayed against Croatia, Spain are likely to run a riot against Turkey.

Real Madrid star Luka Modric scored a screamer to help Croatia register a 1-0 victory over Turkey. Fatih Terim will be hoping his men can bounce back when they take on Spain and as a defeat could dent their chance of qualifying for the next round of the tournament.
