Song Joong Ki's Descendants of the Sun: First South Korean blockbuster show to premiere in India

Zindagi, India's one of the top premium entertainment channels, has decided to launch the blockbuster South Korean drama 'Descendants of the Sun' on Indian television. After successfully introducing handpicked shows from Turkey and Ukraine, the channel would be broadcasting a South Korean drama for the first time. The series will premiere on Indian television on 8 February 2017 at 8 pm.

The drama portrays a heart-warming love story that revolves around Special Force Officer (Song Joong Ki) and a surgeon (Song Hye Kyo) whose destinies are bound to be together. The two fall in love at first sight, but eventually shy away from one another. Destiny plays an interesting role and they meet again at the war zone 'Uruk' after almost a year.

The military themed series witnessed a massive success in South Korea and garnered immense popularity and top ratings across Asia. South Korean heartthrob Song Joong Ki, who plays the lead character in the series, also received fame overnight. His cute character as an Army Captain has charmed the viewers across the globe. He started receiving offers for a number of projects and endorsements after this and gradually he has become one of the highest-paid South Korean actors.
