Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's fans are hoping that the two will announce that they are dating at Chengdu fan meet. Th event will take place on 17 June.
Joong Ki reportedly requested Hye Kyo for the meet in order to grant his fans wishes. The 34-year-old actress agreed to do so for her Descendants of the Sun co-star.
Meanwhile, the Sichuan Province's Agency for Cultural Affairs had confirmed the reunion of the famous couple from the hit series. The cultural department's post on its website read: "We fully allow the appearance of Song Hye-kyo during the event. Further permission will be made based on the article 'Korean celebrity Song Joong-ki's entertainment activities in Sichuan.'"
Rumours that they are dating started in March after the two were reportedly seen together in New York. Joong-ki's agency confirmed that the couple are not an item in real life. The statement from UAA Korea read: "Song Joong-ki is her good colleague with whom she's done a TV series together."
"She was on vacation in New York and Song Joong Ki happened to be there. They had a meal with other friends, and we cannot believe it has turned into a scandal. There is no need for us to consider it seriously. We will take it as a sign of fans' interests. That story has been going around for a long time now. Media outlets have asked us about it and we have told them many times that it is not true," the letter read.
