Singapore: Shophouse fire near Mustafa Centre injures one

The Singapore Civil Defence Force says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A fire has broken out at a shophouse near Mustafa Centre, just 80 metre from 24-hour mall Mustafa Centre, and one person has been rushed to hospital for smoke inhalation on Thursday in Singapore.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was informed about the fire at 11 Lembu Road at about 10.35 am. Two fire engines, a Red Rhino, two fire bikes and an ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.

An attic at the shophouse is completely burnt and the fire also bought down the room. However, the firefighters extinguished it with a water jet.

According to SCDF, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
