Singapore: Police arrest man for molesting 14-year-old girl

In Singapore, anyone found guilty of outraging modesty can end up in jail for up to two years.

Singapore police have arrested a 39-year-old man who was allegedly involved in the molesting of a 14-year-old girl along Upper Boon Keng Road.

According to a news release on Thursday, the complaint was filed by the victim at on 2 April (Sunday) at around 9.29pm. The accused was arrested along Chai Chee Road on 4 April (Tuesday) by officers from Bedok Division, after identifying him with the help of CCTV camera, reported the Channel News Asia. Investigations are going on.

In Singapore, according to the Penal Code, anyone found guilty of outraging modesty can end up in jail for up to two years. Moreover, fine and caning can also be imposed on the accused.
