Singapore police arrest 11 women from unlicensed massage outlets

Singapore police on Thursday said they have arrested 11 women during a raid conducted on December 12 targeting unlicensed massage establishments at Jalan Bukit Merah, Tanjong Pagar and South Bridge Road.

Singapore police on Thursday said they have arrested 11 women during a raid conducted on December 12 targeting unlicensed massage establishments at Jalan Bukit Merah, Tanjong Pagar and South Bridge Road.

Police caught the 11 women, aged between 28 and 40, for offences under the Women's Charter and Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, according to media reports.

Police said it will take action against four massage establishments for offences under the Massage Establishments Act, police said.

A similar raid was conducted in August, where police arrested 34 men and 45 women for a range of offences including gambling and employment-related offences.

The authorities said that the massage establishments and public entertainment outlets in Chinatown, Tanjong Pagar, Little India, Jalan Besar and Bendemeer were checked by the Central Police Division officers.
