Singapore organises Remembrance Day to pay tribute to martyrs

The British High Commissioner Scott Wightman and Commander Andy Lamb leaded the tribute at the Kranji War Memorial.

A remembrance ceremony was organized at the Kranji War Memorial on Sunday morning to pay tribute to people who sacrificed their lives in the two world wars and subsequent wars that followed.

The event is held on Sunday (12 November) which is just a after the Armistice Day (11 November). Armistice Day marks the end of the First World War.

The British High Commission organized the ceremony in partnership with the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans' League. Diplomatic corps, military personnel, representatives of the main religious groups attended the event.

Members of the public were also allowed to be a part of this remembrance ceremony.

Remembrance Sunday is also commemorated in the United Kingdom and other countries in the Commonwealth.

In Singapore, the tribute was led by British High Commissioner Scott Wightman and Commander Andy Lamb.
