A Chinese man, who was in his 60s, was injured after the tipper truck he was driving crashed into the road divider in the tunnel at Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) in Singapore. Reports said the exit to Nicoll Highway has been closed due to the accident.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was informed about the accident involving a tipper truck at 10.55 am. It added that a fire engine, a fire bike and an ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene.

SCDF said the truck driver was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive him.

On Monday, a video was posted on the Facebook page of Singapore Road Accident. It showed motorists trying to help the driver out of the tipper truck.

Police officers and Land Transport Authority (LTA) personnel were present at the scene as they were waiting for a heavy lifting crane to arrive and help stablise the truck. LTA tweeted at 10.53 am that the Nicoll Highway exit (in the direction of the East Coast Parkway) was closed due to the accident.
