Red Velvet aiming for comeback in 2017

Though the title of their comeback has been kept under the wraps, reports reveal that the song will have a bright and cheerful mood.

Girl group Red Velvet is all set to make a comeback this year. Known for their unique concepts, the girls have already wrapped up the filming of their MV and the album will be out in mid-July. Their last release was a mini album titled Rookie with six rocking tracks. Though the title of their comeback has been kept under the wraps, reports reveal that the song will have a bright and cheerful mood.

"Red velvet is working on the music of the last album with the aim of coming back in July. We have just finished filming the new music video recently," Red Velvet's agency SM Entertainment confirmed the news in an official statement. Interestingly, the band recently revealed their official fans club name as "ReVeluv", which is a combination of Red Velvet and Love.

Along with the name, the girls also posted a short video on their Instagram page. They wrote, "Everyone! Were you surprised? An official fan club name was finally decided! We decided on it after gathering all of your thoughts and thinking very carefully! We chose it because we wanted the name to represent the loving relationship that Red Velvet has with all of you. So let's love each other and treasure each other for a really long time! #ReVeluv #WeLoveYou #RedVelvet #YouFinallyHaveAName!" as translated by Soompi.

Red Velvet is a five-member girls band that comprises of Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri. The group made their debut in 2014 with a digital single "Happiness." Since their debut, the group has received high recognition.

Their first EP, Ice Cream Cake released in 2015, topped the Gaon Album Chart the group's first full-length album, The Red, topped various charts like Gaon and the Billboard World Albums Chart. "In Seoul, South Korea's metropolitan area, Red Velvet clocked in a 10.7 percent viewership rating during their performance of "Russian Roulette," Soompi reported. The group has garnered over 160,000 album sales and 3.7 million downloads according to Gaon, and won sixteen music show awards.
