Avid Pokemon GO fans are in for a special treat as Niantic Labs has announced a new Halloween themed in-game event starting 26 October. Despite the declining hype and fanfare for the popular augmented-reality game, the upcoming holiday event for Pokemon GO will be the first of its kind as depicted in the company's recent announcement video on its official YouTube channel.

During the Halloween week starting 26 October to 1 November, Pokemon GO trainers will be able to collect a total of six candies for every successful capture of a pocket monster, which is actually three times the normal count.

As part of the event-reward scheme, you can now grab two bonus candies from the Professor every time you transfer a Pokemon to your Pokedex instead of the usual one.

The buddy Pokemon will now reward trainers with four candies instead of one while the spawning frequency for some rare Pokemons has been considerably increased during the event window. Some of those spooky Pokemons include Zubat, Golbat, Gengar, Gastly, Drowzee, Hypno, and Haunter.
