Park Shin Hye's fancy nails attract criticism over Doctors' telecast

Doctors, starring Kim Rae Won and Park Shin Hye, airs every Monday-Tuesday at 22:00 Pm KST.

Broadcasting channel SBS has issued an apology to its viewers for killing the realism in the high rated medical life inspired drama, Doctors.

As per reports, the channel received a lot of criticism from the show's fans after the leading lady of the drama, Park Shin Hye, was shown donning fancy nails. In their comments, the viewers complained of showing an unrealistic scene with a doctor wearing a decorative nail art on the job. Allkpop quoted a viewer's claim: "Even if this is just a drama and people usually have certain reserves about that, I still wonder if it's okay for a doctor, and a surgeon at that, to have such extravagant nail art. It's evidence that [her nail art] is keeping me from being absorbed in the drama."

In the statement released on Wednesday, SBS extended an apology with a promise to take care in future. The note read: "We talked about her nails with Park Shin Hye before the drama began. But because they didn't seem too flashy, we weren't able to consider their effects on the drama. We accept the criticism that it took away from the realistic aspect, and will take greater care until the end."
