Park Hyung Sik thanked his fans after the heart-warming finale of the 20-episode historical drama, Hwarang. He played the role of Sam Maek Jong, who was a young and distrustful king, and he secretly joins the Hwarang with the identity of Kim Ji Dwi.

According to Soompi, Park shared his thoughts about the successful drama. He said: "I remember very clearly that our director, the crew members, and my fellow actors all suffered a lot because of filming during the hot summer."

Park further added: "However, I smile when I think of that summer because it is filled with very good memories for me."

The actor expressed his gratefulness towards the director and the screenwriter of the historical drama, Yun Seong-Sik and Park Eun-Young, respectively. He also thanked the entire staff members of the drama for making it so wonderful.

The idol-turned actor posted a picture on Instagram that features his "Hwarang" co-stars Park Seo Joon, Jo Yoon Woo, Do Ji Han, Kim Hyun Jun, SHINee's Choi Minho and BTS's Kim Taehyung.

The historical drama "Hwarang" with its refreshing storyline and wonderful cast captured the hearts of many. Unfortunately, the show started off well with some impressive viewership ratings but gradually the ratings went down. It couldn't maintain its position due to other competitive shows like "Defendant" and "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" as they quickly reached to the top.

Hwarang actress Go Ara said that she would prefer not to focus on the viewership ratings alone as their intention was to make a good project and the drama has its own unique color as far as the production in concerned and the viewers enjoyed watching it.

The actress was quoted as saying by the Kpop Herald: "I participated in this drama because I wished to have fun while filming a historical drama and wanted to capture the passion of young people."
