Oh My Girl's JinE is battling with anorexia.

Oh My Girl's JinE will not participate in the upcoming group activities. The South Korean girl group is currently promoting their latest song A-ing.

WM Entertainment revealed that the 21-year-old singer, whose real name is Shin Hye-jin, is battling with anorexia. The statement read: "JinE will temporarily halt activities due to health reasons. We would like to apologize to fans who love Oh My Girl and JinE for relaying this news suddenly."

They continued: "JinE showed symptoms of anorexia after debut so she went to a hospital and received an evaluation and treatment. JinE and the company contemplated over the issue for a long time and decided after discussing the matter that our company artist's health comes first. Following schedules will be promoted by the other seven members excluding JinE. We will wholeheartedly support JinE while she rests and receives treatment. We apologize once more for bringing this sudden news to fans and ask that you continue to show Oh My Girl unchanging love and interest."

In 2015, JinE had opened up about her struggle with anorexia. In an interview with TVReport, she said: "Dieting was the hardest. I'm usually the type that gains weight easily. During our last promotions, I saw a photo of myself and it provoked me."

She added: "I wanted to show a pretty side of myself during our 'Closer' promotions. That's why I recklessly starved myself, and chose protein-centered meals. I of course worked out too. I lost about 8-9 kg (17-20 pounds). But as I ate, and then didn't eat, I developed esophagitis."
